Did you know that I take professional headshots? Yup! It’s one of my favorite kinds of photos to take. I spend lots of time with families and newborn babies, so it’s always a fun change of pace when I get to take them! Later in this post I’ll share some of the headshots and branding photos I have had taken of myself as well. Scroll on down to see.
If you are due for some fresh headshots, contact me and we’ll get some on the books! It can take as little as 20 minutes and we can get so much done in that time. If you want to get some good content for your social media feeds then let’s schedule a little more time so you can change outfits and backgrounds. We’ll keep it fun and simple and you’ll leave feeling like you got something big off of your checklist. Win win win!
Maybe you’ve scheduled your session already. Maybe you’ve even got those photos on your computer and you’re wanting to use them, but feeling a bit unsure.
I’m here to help! I love taking photos and I love it even more when people use them. You probably need to get your website photo up to date. You definitely need to update that LinkedIn pic. You probably have some important things to say to the world and now you’ve got the photos of you doing your thang! Let’s get your message out there!
Here are a few tips that will make using your photos on Instagram (or any social media) a bit easier.
- Use a posting ap. I use Planoly. I can plug in all the photos and captions I want and schedule when I want them to post.
2. Take a minute to think about what you want people to know about you and or your business. What are you selling? What do you want people to know? Make a list and keep it handy. Every time you go to post and come up short on content just refer to that list.
3.Spread your professional headshots out over a few months. Don’t be afraid of using photos that appear similar. Your newsfeed should have continuity and these photos will supply that. You can use photos from the same location, with the same outfit over and over again. Just post a slightly different pose or a one with a different expression on your face. This will help people associate a certain feeling or message with your face. It will remind them to stop and read what you have to say.
4. What are the questions people ask you most often? That’s the info that people want to hear.
5. Remind people what it is like to work with you and be around you. Putting your photos in someone’s hand and on their computer is a little memento of the time you’ve spent with them. They’ll be happy to remember and likely to come back to you again or refer you to someone with a similar need or interest.
6. Look at feeds that are already crushing it. If you see something that’s getting your attention on social media, then they are doing their job. You can use those same tactics to put your photos and newsfeed to good use.
Here’s one of my clients that has done an amazing job with their corporate headshots. And you should be following them because I just love what they are doing. https://www.instagram.com/booth.law/
Hope this was helpful! Contact me directly with any further questions you have or to schedule your next photo session.
Okay, now for photos of me. If you know me, or you’ve been reading this blog, you know that I am all kinds of awkward in front of the camera. I much prefer to be behind the camera, calling the shots, making you look amazing. BUT I’m sharing these photos despite my inner cringe. That’s because I actually like them. I worked with another professional photographer. She helped me get out of my shell and relax enough to get the photos I was hoping for. I was thinking of using a self timer or maybe one of my kids to take my photo, but I’m SO happy that I didn’t do that. I made the call and scheduled my session like a big girl. Way less stress and much better photos than I would have gotten on my own.
