If you are looking for the picture perfect location for your photos this is going to be the place for you. The South Coast Botanic Garden is stunning year round. There is almost every possible backdrop (except the ocean) here. Rose gardens, desert gardens, long rows of trees, tropic gardens (do you love the Monstera plant as much as I do?), koi ponds, rolling green hills, and on and on. This location comes with just one small drawback. That is the price of admission. I say small drawback because the cost is $15 for adults and $5 for kids over the age of 5. Children under the age of 5 are free to enter. Photographers are required to get a permit to take photos at this location which requires just a bit of planning.
The SCBG is most popular for family, maternity and milestone photos. This is a great location for headshots as well. My most popular photos come from this spot. If someone is asking about a specific photo I can almost guarantee it was taken here at the gardens.
Some added advantages to this location are easy wheelchair, walker and stroller access, public restrooms, and plenty of parking. They also have amazing plants for sale by the exit. I’m a plant lover, so it’s hard for me to pass them by without at least looking.
